Day 22

Same Position as yesterday
Repair and inventory day

All night the storm from the south kept pounding against our little tent. It made no sense to manhaul uphill into heavy winds an blowing snow. Only around noon it got calmer again. We started long ovverdue repairs to clothing and eqipment, refill our fuel bottles from the large fuel container, recount all food related items for peace of mind (belly? ;)) and to restore a kiting proof packing order in our sleds. We also used the time for washing ourselves thoroughly and changing our clothes, into warmer gear.

Our battery packs were all empty and we put up our full 40 Watts solar power station to recharge all our electrical eqipment (so we can get this iceblog to you). Now we are ready again for whatever may come our way in the next days.

We also wanted to share a dream Armin had last night, after asking for a clear message about what is in store for us over the next while, before falling asleep. This dream was the answer:

"I stood in the train station in Stuttgart and waited for a train. It was announced over the PA system that because of a snowstorm and the current weather situation all trains are cancelled and all passengers should use the replacement busses.
I walked out because I wanted to take a cab and the next thing I remember was that I already was in my hometown and destination, Reutlingen. I saw a prominent landmark, the Tuebinger Gate in bright sunshine and while sitting in the cab still, I wondered how I got here so fast. Other people got out of the cab, whith whom I had no relation. I stayed in the cab and saw 88 Euro displayed on the meter. I asked the driver if he knew where xy street was as I would be home in no time then. He started to drive but stopped almost immediately, telling me there is a problem with the car, but there would be a replacement car here immediately. I thought about walking home but decided to wait for the replacement cab instead. I awoke".

For the two of us this dream carries a good message, because it hits on 2 specific points which are important for us right now.

To suddenly be at a point close to home without knowing exactly how to have gotten there so fast and to feel really good and to take the cab (wind?) instead of train (skis, tracks). The last part is not as clear to us and more difficult to interpret. What is also very important and an affirmation to us is that Dieter as well received positive reinforcement and communication in his dreams last night. So, it would seem that somebody is watching over us afterall. ;)
