Day 19 Monday 24.11.2008 Position: S 74° 11.5' W 009° 19.1' Distance: 26 km Elevation: 1500m After our rest day and emotional low pressure system moving through,we awoke early from both having had strange dreams. We were refreshed and full of anticipation about this new day. Sara, the wind from the east (yes we do talk with the wind) gifted us with 2 hrs of UltraLight BigBoy kiting winds before her powers wained. The rest of the day we had time to answer following question: 'What is worse than manhauling through a swamp?' Answer: Manhauling uphill through a swamp.:) Swamp in our context simply means extremely soft snow which makes the sled feel like towing 110kg+ of led. But we are extremely happy with our accomplishment for the day and at some time tomorrow we will begin the final climb to the plateau to an elevation of 2400m. We also want to introduce our sleds today.
