Day 16

Friday 21.11.2008
Position: S 73° 44.2'
W 009° 42.3'
Distance: 22km
Elevation: 1420m

For the last 3 days it has been pretty much the same (except for spotting the mountains!). It is absolutely quiet, almost no wind, the sun is shining and the sastrugis bearable. While we are walking almost ceaselessly feelings, emotions and memories appear in our consciousness. Hiding or looking for distractions is useless - so we are both present to whatever comes up. And there seems to be an endless supply, now that there is nothing else covering this vast 'container'. Pleasant or not, such as fears, inadequacies and (self-)judgments for example let the sled appear 10x heavier.

We do our best to stay present to this process and let these heavy energies move through our bodies. An almost constant yawning and at times coughing seems to indicate the energy is discharging/clearing from our systems as we accept our experiences and don't try to fight them or change them.

All of a sudden the sled seems getting lighter and gliding almost effortless. A deep joy and sense of wholeness arises. This majestic antarctic landscape seems to glow with energy and beauty! Silence and love flowing within and without. And then another cycle seems to start....

Aloha Antarctica!
