Day 14 Wednesday 19.11.2008 Position: S 73° 21.3' W 009° 42.2' Distance: 20 km Elevation: 1300m We are two weeks into our expedition and keep climbing into the Ritscher Upland.' Today we received sad news from Novo that our only expedition colleague, who we traveled with from Capetown to Novo, about 800 km from here had to cancel his expedition. Peter from Slovakia started solo from Novo and wanted to get to McMurdo via South Pole within 120 days. His mum had a stroke and he will be airlifted either today or tomorrow. We have now lost our only expedition colleague in this part of Antarctica and feel even more alone now. Dear Peter, all the best to you and your family and we hope that your mum will get well as soon as possible.
