Day 12 Monday 17.11.2008 Position:S 72° 59,3' W 009° 40,9' Distance: 11km Elevation: 1060m Not sure if this blog makes it onto the web as my PDA either died or is so low on batteries that it needs more time to charge before even operating on supplied power. It goes to show Antarctica is a grand yet unforgiving teacher. Armin woke up with a swollen wrist and I have bruised ribs from a crash landing. We were still intent on kiting this morning but at first the was zero visibility with adequate wind, then visibility got better and wind weaker. We still decided to wait, hoping the wind will return - the sun came out but the wind never came back. At 1pm we finally conceded, got into manhauling gear and started pulling. For the short time we made good progress and we are 135km away from Kottas Mountains before the final ascent to the plateau.
